RC Car Scales Definition
RC car scale compares the model to the full size vehicle that it is based on. The reason why not all 1/10 scale RC cars are the same size is that a full size Monster truck is much larger than a full size road car. Therefore the length varies from 448 mm to 549 mm.
1/10 means it is 10 times smaller than the real thing. Although this is more of a rough estimate you can compare 1/10 cars from different manufacturers and they are about the same size.
1/8 scale cars are slightly larger and more robust than their 1/10 scale counterparts.

Stadium trucks are a mix between a buggy and a monster truck. They have a lower ground clearance compared to monster trucks and because of this they handle much better and wont roll over as easy. Traditionally they are 2WD but many manufacturers have a 4×4 version as-well.

1/10 Scale Buggy Size and Weight
Buggies are the best handling off-road vehicles. They often have the highest top speed as-well. They are great if you have a smooth clay or dirt track with moderate jumps. Best to avoid tall grass as the ground clearance is low.

On road cars are best if you have a smooth tarmac road or a parking lot to drive on. On road handling is superior to all other types of RC cars. Ground clearance is very low so the surface must be good.

How Fast is a 1/10 Scale RC car?
The speed depends on many different variables as I discuss in my article about average RC car speeds.
The top speed for a mid-spec 1/10 Scale RC car is 45 mph(72 km/h).
Top-spec 1/10 RC cars are one of the fastest cars on the market. Traxxas Rustler VXL w/TSM will do more than 70 mph(114 km/h).
What Size is 1/10 Scale In Inches?
There is no way to directly convert 1/10 Scale into inches since the scale compares the vehicle to the real life counterpart.
However, 1/10 scale is roughly 20 inches. This means that the vehicle is 20 inches long. This will represent most vehicle types somewhat accurately.
